Audeze Announces a New Affordable Closed-Back Headphone

Planar Magnetic with SLAM
SLAM, short for symmetric linear acoustic modulator, is a new, patent-pending technology introduced on our flagship CRBN2 electrostatic headphone in late 2024. LCD-S20 combines Audeze’s low-distortion planar drivers and the advanced tuning of their SLAM technology to raise the bar for bass perfomance and immersive realism in a closed-back.

The first Audeze headphone to offer magnetically attached earpads, which along with the leather suspension strap, allow for quick and easy replacement and customization. Closed-Back for Sound Isolation
LCD-S20 is ideally suited for tracking and recording, featuring carefully engineered acoustic damping for superior bidirectional passive noise reduction. Being closed back, these are ideal for tracking in the recording studio. The superior transient/impulse response of our planar magnetic drivers means you’ll easily perceive the timing of the click track or the snare drum to help keep you on time. The excellent passive noise reduction prevents microphone bleed and protects your hearing.
