The legendary luxury goods manufacturers out of Hamburg, Germany embark on their first foray into hearable devices. The Montblanc MB-01 headphones come in black, brown, and a beautiful light gray, each with chrome, gold, and polished metal accents.
At $595, Montblanc’s new over-ear headphones are by no means cheap. However, considering that Montblanc fountain pens can go clear into the thousands of dollars, these could be a relative steal. The MB-01 headphones are constructed from genuine leather, lightweight aluminum, and silicone. No material quality sacrifices were made for the sake of cost or portability.

The headphones were designed with luxury travel in mind. 20 hours of playback time on a single charge isn’t exactly outstanding for wireless headphones these days, but it’s enough to last your journey no matter the length. Even the longest direct flight in the world — New York to Sydney — clocks in at just under 20 hours.
Honestly, I haven’t gotten my hands on these in person yet, but I do have a sweet tooth for luxury goods. The leather on the MB-01 headphones looks so plush and pillowy. I actually can’t wait to sink into my couch with these cushioning my ears. The backside of the cups looks so smooth and cool to the touch. The metal is so shiny. Am I doing too much?
What Else Is There?
The Montblanc MB-01 headphones feature premium Active Noise Canceling, Bluetooth 5.0, and aptX playback. They fold up neatly into a case for carrying on the go and come with a 3.5mm cable. The headphones also come fully integrated with Google Assistant. Touch-based assistant and playback controls rest inside the metal accents where the headband meets the cups.
The MB-01 headphones are available for $595 with online retailers like Montblanc’s own site. I can’t wait for the opportunity to get a more in-depth experience with these bad boys. Until then, keep checking in here at Headphone Dungeon for all the latest news and updates.
